I selected StateGuard Protective Services for our January annual festival for the first time this year.
In our 8th year, we have previously always used a local company, however I was never totally satisfied with their service, and after receiving a recommendation, I approached Ben Bilbilov, Managing Director, to discuss our past issues and future expectations.

For the last 12 months Western Health have engaged the external security services of Stateguard Protective Services to provide security staffing resources for the provision of:
- Staff escorts,
- Car park patrols,
- Patient watch 1:1 specialling and
- Major events / Openings / Elected officials visits etc….
We have found Stateguard staff who are rostered to perform these duties to be professional, empathetic, compassionate and well presented; the Stateguard staff that are assigned to us meet the inherent requirements of a security officer within a hospital environment.
In addition to their standard Stateguard training, all officers are educated at minimum in verbal de-escalation strategies, safe control and restraint techniques, law and legislation, code grey and code black response specific to a hospital environment and do assist our internal team with occupational violence and aggression issues when performing a patient watch specialling role. Having staff with this level of knowledge and skill set, who are trained the same way as our internal team is a huge benefit to our security operations.
I find the management team at Stateguard to be well organised and flexible in their approach. No request is ever too much trouble; they have a ‘can do’ attitude that starts at the top and filters its way down throughout their leadership team
The innovative Stateguard ASSIST app for escorts where our staff can request an escort and track the patrol vehicle on their phone is one of the services Stateguard provided that has proven to be highly successful with our clinical and non-clinical staff. There has been resounding positive feedback centring around a sense of safety and security in knowing where and how far away the patrol car is when they are walking to or from their vehicle, particularly after dark.
